Princess Cruises’ largest ship ever - Sun Princess – will make her U.S. debut in October 2024 providing the ultimate vacations to favorite Caribbean destinations on seven- and 14-day itineraries out of Ft Lauderdale, Fla. The ship is the first in the line’s new Sphere class, and will homeport at Port Everglades for the winter, following a season of Mediterranean and Europe cruises when she launches in February 2024. Promenade Deck (deck 9) is an open-air space (running from midship to aft/stern, portside and starboard) with outdoor seating/alfresco dining areas. The Horizons Dining Room on Decks 6 and 7 is a spectacular space overlooking a bank of two-story windows that wrap attractively around the stern of the ship. Horizons on Deck 6 is for those passengers that have selected traditional early or late seating dining. Passengers without set dining reservations can make reservations, or walk-in, on the Deck 7 level of Horizons.

The spacious floorplan ensures guest comfort and entertainment, and with over 200 of the newest and most popular slots and video poker games, there is something for everyone. Alfredo’s Pizzeria – This charming favorite that has been named “Best Pizza at Sea” will once again have an open kitchen design, allowing guests to watch as the chefs create pizza by hand and serve them straight out of them oven. New to the kitchen is a professional, open-mouth oven that reaches 968 degrees, allowing chefs to create truly authentic contemporary Neapolitan pizza. Guests will enjoy an authentic experience comparable to one they would receive when traveling to Italy. Sea View Terrace (fka The Beach Club) is a bow-facing observation lounge (forward on deck 16) with a glass-roof cover and direct stair access to The Dome (sundeck area on deck 17). Princess has found popularity with travelers from Asia and Japan thanks to its deployment of Diamond Princess in the region, and Asian-American passengers have always been well represented onboard.

Umai Teppanyaki (deck 8) is a new for Princes Cruises specialty restaurant serving Japanese traditional grilled cuisine using an iron griddle to cook the food. Serving as a nursery/group babysitting venue, Firefly Park has a dedicated playground and offers after-hours babysitting (between 10 pm - 1 am). Unlike the preceding ROYAL Class, the new Princess SPHERE ships have oceanview cabins, each fitted with a large non-opening Picture Window. One of the more interesting things Princess has done with Sun Princess is to completely reimagine the dining experience in a subtle but meaningful way. What doesn’t take getting used to, though, are some of the incredible, welcomed – and long-overdue – improvements Princess Cruises has made aboard Sun Princess. Sure, we miss the walk-in closets of the Princess Cruises of old, but the crisp, new design, dramatically improved cabin bathrooms, and spacious balconies make up for it.

Crown Grill (fka Sterling Steakhouse, open 6-11 pm) is a dinner-only specialty restaurant (at surcharge PP) serving grilled food (steaks and seafood). The ship's Steakhouse features circular seating, modern artworks, leather booths, open kitchen (guests enjoy the views of their food being prepared in the fleet's biggest show galley/kitchen). The Dome is a glass-roof-covered sundeck (spanning two floors /decks forward) and is the first true glass-enclosed space on a cruise liner. During the day, The Dome serves as a pool deck (having a large indoor/outdoor swimming pool). At night, the swimming pool is covered to become a stage as The Dome transforms into an entertainment venue with superior sound and lighting effects and live aerial performances. For the first time in decades, Princess Cruises has completely re-thought cabin design aboard Sun Princess.
The show features popular Latin soundtrack favorites like "Rhythm Is Gonna Get You" by Miami Sound Machine and "Hips Don’t Lie" by Shakira. Inaugural 2024 Sun Princess cruises to the Mediterranean and Europe are currently on sale, and Caribbean voyages will go on sale April 19, 2023.
